new game

This is my new idea. It's a group of blood cells that speed up or slow down when they go through a symbol of something that typically does either of those things. haha. look at the pictures below. the game is based on timing, you have to get to the end quickly enough to get to the next level. hence, the multi-level-ness. wish me luck.

Wafaa Bilal and his problems

I think terrorism is turning into paranoia. I also refuse to make statements about it. But obviously if curators know their artist, and they know he's teaching at the university, they should know he's not a threat to national security. I think we should be careful but not take back our word on artists.

This just doesn't work. Teachers are watched by students and yeah, if I were going to go this round about way to be a terrorist, i would choose teaching art school, i mean, who makes more jabs at bush than an art teacher?

actually, i'm sick of art and politics together. i'm done with that.

The New Plan

I have an idea for a game.
It came from my new plan to quit what I'm doing now and run away to become a candy maker in some place like Roswell or Amboise.

I think a character will have to avoid distractions to her new plan, while trying to caramelize sugar correctly. If she doesn't get to the pot in time, the sugar burns and she loses money. If she gets there too early, the sugar turns into different stages of candy, which is just as delicious, because all candy is, but not as profitable because it is not fancy. Caramelized cheesecake brings in more dough than fudge and lollipops.

Her distractions are things like grades, boys, cheez-its, shopping, bills, some manifestation of pressure and creativity blockades. Reward is a little candy shop in a quaint neighborhood with good parking. (Hey, while we're dreaming).

If you burn too much sugar, you have to go back to programming and living off of commercial candy bars. (those should be distractions, too).

some more distractions: starvation, irony, dirty water, bugs, demand shortage, photoshop, and a few more boys.

this game feels like it should be less a timed hit and run game but more of a problem solver game. realistically thinking, it would have to be little quizzes, because buttons are about all i can guarantee. my knowledge level of these things really messes this stuff up.

Oh, me.

Things aren't going well. Here's the situation:

If the functions from the separate AS file are commented out, the robot shows up and he walks and the lonely flower on the planet rotates with the planet when the robot walks and everything goes well.

If the functions are "functioning," the robot does not show up and the flower movie clip plays and plays and there is no rotation because there is no robot.

The problem is from the functions, or maybe the AS file. I added the AS file to my original file, where most of the coding is on the frame in the FLA file. This could be the problem. Maybe I MUST HAVE that big encompassing AS file with the same name as the FLA sort-of and all that. This would require lots of work. And it's all working besides the functions being called internally in the fla file. I don't know what else to think.

My game is a new breed, of confusion and curiosity. I will reveal this to you soon.

Ybo Exercises

Ybo can do a little more now. He's still a sloppy mess, though.

Here, he flies away and doesn't come back, and he can magically reappear in the center of the screen, but that's as far as he's gotten in his magician training and he can only do it once.

If you press a key, he goes very slightly faster. Thrilling.

Here come the planet, if you missed, reload and scroll down fast!

Ybo's planet's already gone by now, isn't it?

He can shoot water from his rotating head! Wow, Ybo!

Ybo Walking

Let's see if this works, if it does, then ignore this first sentence. He has just a walk cycle, but I'm satisfied with it's level of goofiness. It's got some weirdness, But I'm having trouble with the embedding deal.

got it! the better version ...........link:

yep, the embed thing is a mess.

Day 2

Sprite kids, I called him Ybo, his walk cycle is kind of goofy, I'm working on it.

Vectorized images, I put gummi fruit in a fruit bowl. There are six pieces of candy.
